It's been a while since I've posted photos of him so I thought I would todat.  These were all taken by Leesa.  :)

Everything went well yesterday except for lunches.  My admin ordered lunches but sent them to the wrong building.  Needless to say I had over a hundred hungry people looking for lunch.  Catering was able to recover those that weren't scavenged and brought them down to my building.  It was just enough to feed everyone.  Sadly I had to get bossy with people as they attacked the cart while other people were listening to the session.  I still haven't figured out the best way to handle lunch. There's always next year.  LEESA was great help.  She even blogged a little about it.

Well, my big day is here.  I hope it goes well.  The Princess volunteered to help me with logistic stuff today, so I'm sure it will go fine.  Of course I didn't sleep well.  Anytime I set the alarm I wake up multiple times before the alarm goes off.  I'd probably sleep better and wake up on time if I didn't set it all.  Well...time to head in early...

Tomorrow is my big day at work that I've been talking about for a while.  Today is therefore prep day.  Of course all the worries are there.  What if I hold an event and no one comes?  What if video doesn't work?  What if, what if?  I'm sure it will go fine, but these are all the things running through my mind today.  Today I meet with the video and room people to make sure everything is setup.  I reserved the room so that people could rehearse.  Only one person took me up on my offer.  I hope the others do well. 

I haven't posted for a few days because the subject I most wanted to blog about wasn't public knowledge or I just didn't know what was going to happen.  Last Friday I received a meeting invite for my bosses team, 2 HR representatives and another General Manager for yesterday morning.  This could only mean one thing.  A reorg.  I sent mail to my boss and he said we'd meet prior to the meeting.  On Wednesday afternoon I found out I'd be moving to a new manager.  Nothing like a weekend and 3 days of anxiety wondering what my future holds for me. 

I've worked with the new manager in the past.  He's a nice guy.  I'll be meeting with him today to talk about the future, transition, that sort of stuff.  Now that I know who it is, the anxiety has settled down a bit.  I'm sure the meeting today will shed light on my future as well.

As I feared, the midterm was a bear.  I can't imagine anyone getting anything above a 90%.  The only chance I have is if they award partial credit.  Oh well...

Change is in the air at work.  I can smell it.  Now I just need to find out what the change will be.  I hope it's good.

I've got a midterm exam today for my database class.  I'm not feeling too confident about it.  I know, I know.  I'm sure you all think I'll do fine.  I'm not so sure.  It's closed book, closed notes.  Oh well, we'll see.  I need to do a progress report for my statistics project as well this weekend.   6 more classes...6 more classes...

I took a quick look at the survey's this morning and they looked mostly positive.  There was some good constructive feedback as well.  I'll enter them in Excel today and see what the trends look like. 

It's just beautiful outside today.  A good day for the garden to grow.  It looks like the rest of the week is going to be sunny.

A good friend of mine is having a birthday today.  I know he lurks and rarely if ever comments.  Slacker is probably working today too.  How bad is that?  Not only is it the weekend, but it's his birthday and he's working.

This is a busy month for me.  I have an all day training session on Monday I'm hosting for new employees.  I am 2 people short of my goal of 30.  Hopefully a few more sign up today.  I am also using the class for my statistics class.  I'm surveying the class to find out how valuable the training is and if they'll be able to use it in their jobs.  Finally something I can do for both work and class.  Who would have guessed it would be statistics.  As for the database class, I don't think I'm doing as well.  I'm not sure why.  The midterm is next week already.  I can't believe the class is half over.

My other big event is in a little less than 3 weeks.  Everything seems to be going ok.  We'll see as it gets closer.

I've got a cold today.  It doesn't happen very often but I guess I'm not as impervious as I claim sometimes.

Hey, for class I need an example of probability and risk.  An example would be the probability of being a car wreck vs an airplane accident are much higher for car accidents yet more people are worried about airplane crashes.  This is the example used in the question.  I need another one.  Any ideas?

Although "The Princess"©  can be demanding, many times she is kind as well.  The growing season starts later in Montana, so she was gracious enough to have her new tiller sent to my house.  She'll pick it up when she's out here later.  It worked great.  I spent a few hours tilling the garden this weekend in preparation for vegetables.  I bought the plants last night and will plant some time this week.  I'm planting tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, beans, pumpkins, lettuce, lavender and basil.  I'd like to try a cantaloupe, but there weren't any in the store yet.  They never do well because of the sun, but I like to try anyway.  Am I missing anything?

Good news.  I found someone to kick-off my event later this month.  Now I just need more people to sign up for the training I'm offering next Monday.
