It’s over…thanks to all my well wishers.  The event went very well.  I don’t think we had a single problem.  Factoring in the exhibitors, I had about 400 people go through the fair.  Considering the number of invites that went out, that’s about a third.  I’m very excited with how it turned out. 

It looks like it’s going to be another hot weekend.  Hopefully I’ll get the projects done that I need done. Have a great day and a great weekend Internet!

I hope it's not the quiet before the storm.

I’m sitting here at work looking at all the booths.  Everything went well yesterday.  My only worry at this time is one team is traveling from California to present their tools.  I haven’t seen them yet and the fair starts in less than 2 hours.  I hope they get here soon.  Dang…I just realized I forgot my camera.  Oh well.

As for me, I’ll be setting up for the event.  We’ll have 18 booths to setup.  Booth drapes, tables, chairs, power, networking.  If bad things are going to happen, they’ll happen today.  Tomorrow should go rather smoothly if today goes well.  Wish me luck.  :)

I’ve been working on an event at work that takes place this Thursday.  It feels like the final minutes and I’m not sure I have everything covered.  I just got an e-mail from someone that claims they have the room reserved.  Sigh…let’s hope this isn’t an omen.  The good news is I’ve had 264 accepts and 203 tentatives.  If just half that attends it’ll be a success….as long as nothing big goes wrong.  Am I too young to have an ulcer?

My first weekend back from vacation, I had great intentions of finishing a few projects.  I did get some done, but not everything.  It sure was hot.  No, not as hot as everywhere else, but hot enough for me.  I’ve very much acclimated to the cooler northwest.  My Saturday didn’t start as well as I had hoped.  Alex and I went out at 8 to start mowing the grass while it was still cool.  I had forgotten that we had a dog lead buried in the corner of the yard for when Ginger comes to visit.    5 minutes in to mowing, I see the steel cable line laying on the ground….just as I ran over it.  All I had time for was a quick prayer that it wouldn’t wind its way around my mowers shaft.  No such luck.  The next hour was spent with wire cutters and several new holes in my hands removing the cable.  You can’t really turn riding mower over without damaging something so I spent At least the mower wasn’t hurt.  We needed to finish by 10 because I rented a tiller to till the garden. 

We finished the lawn just in time to hop in the car and head down to the rental place.  It cost $40 to rent for 2 hours.  I quickly came home and tilled the garden.  I worked my butt off to get it done in 2 hours.  The garden is about 20 feet by 20 feet with 6 foot field fence to keep the deer out.  With the garden tilled, I finally planted vegetables.  I know it’s kind of late in the season, but I’ve been busy.  I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, strawberries, zucchini, cantaloupe, and green beans.  We’ll see if I get anything this year.

With sadness and happiness I’ve reached the halfway point of my vacation.  I got to spend time with two good friends for the last few days.  I had a great time and have many great memories.  Today, I get to visit with my dad on Father’s Day.  I haven’t seen him for about a year.  It’ll be a nice visit.  Just a few more days until I go home and see my friends and family.  I miss them.

Guess who is hiding on the stairs…  Does she look surprised?  Marianna had no idea I was going to surprise her with a visit while she was in Maryland visiting Laura.  I’m going to spend a few days in Maryland and then a few days with my dad.  They are both just like they blog.  Yes, Marianna is just as neurotic as she claims.  We were in the grocery store and…wait I should probably wait to tell you the story after I go home.  I do HAVE to spend the next few days with her.  Laura’s kids are just as adorable as they look in the pictures.  Marianna’s going to pick me up in a few minutes from my hotel room, so I’m going to hit publish.  Have a great day Internet.
