Like most of the country, I spent the weekend inside trying to stay cool.  Last week I bought a window AC unit.  We keep it in our big room where we have the TV and computers.  We spend most of our time in here.  I ventured outside a few times thinking if I didn’t exert myself, it wouldn’t be so bad.  I was wrong.  It was over 100 here yesterday.  I looked at our thermometer and it was 95 in the shade.  Far too hot for me. 

I’ve been having Messenger problems lately.  I’m signed in, but nobody can see me.  It’s happened at work and now at home.  If it keeps persisting, I’m gonna ping the Messenger team.  As most of you know, I’m online most of the day.  If you don’t see me and want to chat, send me an e-mail or offline IM.  You know the new Live Messenger supports offline IMs, right?  It also supports chatting with your Yahoo friends as well.

I woke up at 1:30 this morning.  I finally got up at 5:30 knowing I had to get ready for the day at 6:00.  Sigh   Whoever invented insomnia should be shot.

Happy birthday to my friend Dan.  He’s an old man and I plan on reminding him of that tonight on my way home.

I’ve been feeling under the weather lately.  I know…I never get sick…Within the last year, this has been my second time.  Very unusual.  It’s mostly just a nasty cough that I’ve had for 2 weeks.  I kept thinking it was going away, but it didn’t.  Julie’s had the same thing but worse.  She went in yesterday and was diagnosed with a bronchial infection.  I figured I probably had the same thing, so I decided I should go in this morning and get it taken care of.  They gave me an antibiotic and a decongestant.  The Dr looked at me and asked if I had taken them before.  I had to chuckle and tell him this was the first time I can remember ever going to the Dr for being sick.  Yes, I’ll take my antibiotic every day.

Anyways…That was my morning…Have a great day Internet.

I got a call from my mom this morning.  My Grandfather died this morning.  He’s a great man and I’ll miss him.  It’s funny I say that because I haven’t seen him in a few years.  I didn’t grow up with him either.  He lived on the East coast and I lived on the West coast.  He was actually even my step-grandfather.  My grandmother was divorced and remarried Grandpa Judd.  As much as I’d have reason to say we weren’t close, I’m still going to miss knowing that I won’t see him again.  He was a special man.  When you hear about the greatest generation, he was one of them.  He volunteered to be a pilot in World War 2.  He used to fascinate me with stories of becoming a pilot.  He and my grandmother built a log cabin from scratch with logs off their property in their late 50’s.  They cut the logs and used a series of pullies to move them in to place.  They did all the work themselves.  I loved his stories.  He always had time to show me how things worked.  He loved to tinker.

He started getting alzheimers in the last few years.  In the last month or so, it got bad enough that they had to hospitalize him.  I guess I didn’t realize how quickly he would go.  Rest in peace Grandpa Judd.  I love you and I’m going to miss you.

Today is my fourteenth wedding anniversary.  It’s hard to believe we’ve been married that long sometimes.  Fourteen years goes by quick.  Happy anniversary Julie.

It’s also my friend Nicks birthday.  Happy birthday Nick.  :)
